The word Typhoon is derived from the Chinese phrase-Tai' Fung-or 'Great Wind'. A typhoon is a tropical storm of hurricane intensity that ravages the nations bordering the Pacific Ocean in Southeast Asia. A typhoon is created when there is a confluence of several significant meteorological events. It lives on the edge; between wild, disorganized tropical storms and peaceful coastlines. It is capable of great destruction, yet it has a very specific form, and even the average typhoon contains energy equivalent to 200 times the world-wide electrical generating capacity. A typhoon rides the edge of chaos where raw energy is given a form and a purpose.
